DATA BACKUP

The most valuable part of your computer is the data it contains.

Ask most people what they’d take with them if their house was on fire and they’ll say “my photo albums”.

Why? Because usually they are irreplaceable.

A rock-solid backup system has 4 requirements. Backups should be:

Regular

Murphy’s Law says “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong”. Backing up regularly is the best way to get you back up and running following a major computer issue.

Automatic

Automatic backups take the headache out of backing up and prevents the process from being missed.

Monitored

Backups can fail. They should notify you when they fail so you can take immediate steps to correct the problem.

Co-located

An on-site backup could be stolen or damaged during the same event that took out the computer it was protecting. An off-site back can take a long time to restore and doesn’t typically include a full system snapshot. Instead, it backs up specific data such as your documents and photos. For these reasons, it’s best to have both to ensure you’re fully protected.
